UNESCO protected historical centre of Dubrovnik attracts numerous travellers from all over the world, but recently it has grown in popularity among foreign film and TV productions as well. Latest in the line of big production comes probably the biggest one to have ever visited this area.
In March of 2016, several locations within Dubrovnik’s historical centre were closed off for the filming of sci-fi action feature with a working title Space Bear. Global media descended to Dubrovnik during the preparations and filming as many speculated this to be the code name for none other than Star Wars, Episode 8 – The Last Jedi. Film crew transformed some of the most prominent points of Dubrovnik into a perfect backdrop for an intergalactic fantasy.
