No need in pointing out we are Star Wars fans here at StarWarsDubrovnik. However, not even a lifetime of devotion to this sci fi epic nor the new found love of the series following Episode VIII filming in Dubrovnik has made us actually like any of the models of Star Wars shoes featured in a recent post by io9.

Apparently, company called Irregular Choice has successfully obtained the license to produce Star Wars themed footwear and they have made quite an effort to prove not everything wearing the famed Star Wars logo is worth having (although we knew that after seeing The Phantom Menace… yes, I’m still on about The Phantom Menace). So, for our fashion oriented readers, here’s some slick sci-fi footwear.

Star Wars fans are anxiously expecting the premier of Rogue One – A Star Wars Story, which is coming in the oh so distant December. The anticipation spiked recently when the official trailer was finally released.

However, it now seems Disney is not satisfied with the director’s cut of the film, and when Disney is not satisfied with something, you can bet they will make you do something about it. As PageSix reports, quoting an unnamed Hollywood source, Disney executives have decided to do a re-shoot in July following some less than delighted feedback from the initial viewings of the first cut. Apparently, The Force Awakens has proven to be such a well-received movie it set the bar high for the franchise films to follow it.

Qualifications of the movie director Gareth Edwards are hardly questionable as his previous films like 2014 Godzilla remake and In the Shadow of the Moon (2010) have been well received by the audiences and critics alike. However, it seems Disney is demanding nothing less than an ultimate crowd pleaser from this new instalment in the Star Wars franchise.

After Dubrovnik, Croatia in March, it was Malin Head in Ireland that had the pleasure of hosting cast and crew of Star Wars Episode VIII. Filming there went on for 12 days since May 13th. As StarWarsNewsNet reports, the actors and crew were delighted with their temporary Irish home and praised the local hospitality and beautiful sets.

The same source quotes the story of local fans who got an amazing chance to meet the movie director Rian Johnson and engage in a conversation in one of the local pubs. According to them Johnson is very pleasant and down the earth man who cares about us Star Wars fans. Visit StarWarsNewsNet for full story.

These photos of Millennium Falcon taken on the Pinewood sets are truly amazing. There are a few shots of the interior as well.

Star Wars user made musical videos have always been popular. Some are good, some are less so, but some are absolutely phenomenal!

Am I just being an 80’s nostalgia nut when I say the actual Star Wars is missing more of music like this, especially in the battle sequences? Now, if anyone would only make a lightsabre compilation using the music from Van Damme’s Bloodsport… I’d die!

Have you already seen this clip? If not, check it out in its entirety, it is hillarious!

Ms. Candace Payne published this video of her trying on a Chewbacca mask and exploding into laughter which in itself doesn’t sound too interesting, but it is one of strongest going viral videos of the month and when you watch it, it’s clear to see why. Her laughter is absolutely infectious. Go ahead, try not to laugh. I dare you. I double dare you!

Star Wars Episode VIII is being filmed and there are plenty of speculations and guesses about the plot and characters, but one of the things sparking some interest is the title of the movie. Apparently, As published by MoviePilot, Star Wars Episode VIII’s leaked title is “Fall of the Resistance”.

If true, this is probably just the working title of the movie, but it could hold some very interesting clues about the plot. However, some claim the working title is Space Bear, and we can confirm the filming which all the media covered as filming of Star Wars Episode VIII in Dubrovnik WAS announced and officially done under the name Space Bear.

There are plenty other titles kicked around the World Wide Web, but we are inclined to believe the end title of the Episode VIII will not be revealed anytime soon.

Yep, out of the three actors Mark Hamill is definitely the one to put up a show and work the crowd. It’s no wonder fans love him. Following clip published by Donegal TV shows Luke Skywalker entertaining Irish fans after settling down and visiting Malin Head in expectation of the start of filming for Star Wars Episode VIII.

Hamill has demonstrated his charming and funny demeanour many time so far and he will definitely be responsible for making new fans among the local crowd. Is he getting paid by the PR department as well? He should be.

As reported by Daily Mail Star Wars Episode VIII stars have started arriving to Belfast in Northern Ireland to join the crew on the set at Malin Head. Mark Hammill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver (yes, we have Kylo Ren potentially doing scenes with Luke and Rey!!), and director Rian Johnson have all been seen at the city’s airport and were then taken off towards Ireland and Malin Head sets.

Do we even need to report Star Wars fans are turning up in numbers on the filming locations as well? Similar to what we’ve seen with Croatian Star Wars fan Club – Star Wars Hrvatska, Irish fans were seen entertaining the locals and visitors alike in full stormtrooper costumes. It is safe to say, the insanity is about to ensue in Ireland!
